NOTIFICATION NUMBER 10
by Samuel Gallet (staged reading)
The young Lakdar is beaten to death by a security guard while stealing his car. This murder becomes the driving force behind a group of children's uprising. They make their resistance to the system public via radio announcements. The military seals off one sector after another, those who can flee to the no-man's land of the suburbs, the rest of the population vegetates in front of the TV. The children, who call themselves "lovers", meanwhile slash tires, fill gas tanks with sugar and literally "shit" in front of the rulers' doors. Hassan, Ladkar's older brother, finally burns down the Ministry of Justice and sets out to find his brother's murderer. He finds him in a childhood friend who had dreamed of a better future abroad with his job as a security guard. A grim end-of-the-world piece that turns a handful of children into rebels in the fight for a decent life.
