It begins as a test of courage: to join the gang, Adam has to eat leaves, then cigarettes are stubbed out on him, and finally he has to balance on a grate at the top of the hill. Adam obeys, slips and falls into a dark shaft several meters deep. It is unlikely that he survived the impact. To cover up their own involvement in the accident, the young people create the profile of an imaginary perpetrator. Completely unexpectedly, the police actually find a man who fits the description. Unrest spreads among the kids, and nerves are completely frayed when Adam - seriously injured but alive - crawls out of a hedge and now has to be eliminated for a second time. Kelly's protagonists have seen enough CSI episodes to know all about how to cover up genetic traces and lay false trails. However, the fact that their consciences would make themselves known in their callousness was definitely not planned.
